The EGO site is organized into 3 types of categories:
General Pages
Any member can edit or create. They are part of the _default category. They are unstructured. Members must create links to these pages from other pages manually.
Feed Categories
Use: ListPages module
Feed categories have a main page that automatically updates itself with a listing of new pages and their contents. The list may be organized chronologically (i.e., events) or alphabetically (i.e., profiles). The content pages are part of a special category (i.e., blog, events, profiles, syllabi, Groups) that any member can edit or create. Their URL is http://umassenglishgrad.wikidot.com/categoryname:pagename.
The pages that structure them are usually part of the system category and can be edited only by site admins. They usually include a main page, a menu page, and a template.
Tag Organized Categories
Use: tag module
Tag organized categories have main pages that provide organized lists of pages within its category. These pages are organized by tags. The main page has a series of tag modules built into it, each with a different tag. Content pages in these categories must be tagged with a standard tag to appear in a section on the page. Untagged pages are listed in the “uncategorized” section.
The content pages are part of a special category (i.e., howto, help) that any member can edit or create. Their URL is http://umassenglishgrad.wikidot.com/categoryname:pagename.
The pages that structure them are usually part of the system category and can be edited only by site admins. They usually include a main page and a template.
