Writing Program Diversity Action Group Pizza

The Diversity Action Group is hosting an informational session. Pizza will be served. The Diversity Action Group will preview its two projects for the semester: A database for diversity-related classroom activities and diversity workshops for TOs. Join us to learn more! Collaborate with fellow teachers! Grab a slice of pizza! RSVP to the Writing Program (so we get enough pizza!).

Please attend the next meeting of the English Graduate Organization. An agenda will be posted shortly. The main focus of the meeting will be the Writing Program proposal.

Wednesday, February 24th
Writing Program Town Hall Meeting
Bartlett 65 (the basement auditorium)
Please come to an open meeting on the proposed changes in First Year Writing. This meeting is being jointly planned by the Writing Program staff and representatives from the Graduate Employee Organization (GEO) and the English Graduate Organization (EGO). Also in attendance will be the Graduate Program Directors (both MFA and MA/PhD) from the English Department. We invite all Writing Program Teaching Associates, Writing Program staff, English faculty, English graduate students, and any other interested parties. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions.

16th Annual Du Bois Lecture by Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham

The UMass Amherst Libraries host the 16th Annual Du Bois Lecture, by Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham, Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., Cape Cod Lounge, Student Union, UMass Amherst. Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham, Ph.D. is the Victor S. Thomas Professor of History and of African and African American Studies at Harvard University. Her talk is titled “The Many Lives of W.E.B. Du Bois in the New From Slavery to Freedom.” The event is free and open to the public.
